Barwin On Brady's Suspension: 'I'm Rooting For Two Games'

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- After the New England Patriots' Week Four bye, they head to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. Why is this relevant for Eagles fans?

Well, Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady was suspended four games by the NFL for his involvement in Deflategate. However, with an appeal coming, the suspension could very well be reduced to two games (Bovada LV set the odds of Brady's suspension being reduced to two games at 7-5).

Meaning, Brady would get to face the Eagles' division foe.

"I don't really have many thoughts about it," Eagles linebacker Connor Barwin told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Wednesday when asked about Deflategate.

"I mean, they had to do something so obviously they game him [Brady] four games. I haven't really followed it because whenever you turn the TV on they're talking about, so I turn it off. But, four games is what I thought he would probably get. And then since maybe the balls have a big effect on the game, it'll probably get appealed and only be two games."

Cataldi informed Barwin of the Patriots' schedule.

"If that's the case, I'm rooting for two games too!" Barwin said.

The Cowboys are projected to finish two games better than the Eagles, according to Football Outsiders and ESPN. Barwin, however, feels the Eagles will be better in 2015 than they were last year.

Furthermore, with plenty of new players on the Eagles' roster, Barwin explained the type of player/person head coach Chip Kelly is looking for.

"He wants guys that are 100-percent all in," Barwin explained. "This is obviously the most important thing in their life and if he feels like that is not the case, then you might not be on his best side. So, those are the type of players that he tries to bring in here."
