Baby On Board! Woman Goes Into Labor On Flight From Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A plane that took off from Philadelphia on Sunday landed with an extra passenger on board.

The plane, a Southwest Airlines flight originally en route to Orlando, diverted to Charleston after a baby was born in flight.

Medical personnel on-board the plane assisted with the delivery.

The flight was met by emergency medical personnel upon landing in Charleston, where the parents and baby were transported to an area hospital.

The flight arrived in Orlando just over an hour behind schedule following the diversion.
