PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Summer is not officially here just yet, but the mid 90s temperatures this week will make it feel like we are in mid-July.

Temperatures will soar this week, and combined with the humidity, the heat can feel miserable. Doctor Jen Caudle practices Family Medicine in South Jersey, and says this kind of weather can be dangerous.

"People who are at highest risk for having problems in the heat are the elderly, young children, and people with chronic medical conditions," she says. "Keep an eye out for each other. Look out for your neighbors and other family members to make sure your family is staying safe."

Dr. Caudle says signs for heat stroke include confusion or dizziness, skin feeling unusually warm to the touch and rising body temperatures, nearing a 103 degrees. This is when you should call 9-1-1. She says to avoid this problems associated with the heat, stay hydrated and cool.

"If you don't have air conditioning at home, go to the mall, go to the library, go to a friend's house," she says. "Get in the air conditioning."
