Authorities Still Searching For Escaped Pennsylvania Inmate

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (AP) — Authorities were continuing to search Tuesday for an inmate who escaped from a western Pennsylvania jail over the weekend.

Greene County Prison Warden Harry Gillispie says 27-year-old Waylon Hodge Hanlan fled from the Waynesburg facility just before 8 p.m. Sunday. He's been behind bars since Dec. 11 on a probation violation.

State police Trooper Matt Jardine says Harlan climbed a fence and ran into the woods where his sister waited in a car.

That woman, 23-year-old Vanessa Hanlan, allegedly took her brother to her home where he changed out of jail garb and she gave him keys to a car.

She was arrested Monday morning and faces charges including hindering apprehension and conspiracy to commit escape.

Online court records don't list an attorney for her.
