Authorities: Man Found Shot In NJ, Dies En Route To Hospital

FREEHOLD, N.J. (CBS) -- Authorities in New Jersey are searching for a murder suspect after a man was found shot in Asbury Park and died en route to the hospital.

According to police, officers were responding to a 911 call around 8 p.m. Friday when they found 32-year-old Dexter Dunston lying on the ground on the 700 block of 3rd Avenue, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Asbury Park Fire Department was dispatched to provide emergency medical services.

Officials say Dunston was then transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center but died while en route to the hospital.

Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and Asbury Park Police Department are now conducting a joint investigation.

At this point no arrests have been made.
