Scene Cleared After Suspicious Device Reported In North Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The fire department and bomb squad was called Sunday afternoon after a suspicious device was found in North Philadelphia

Officials say a large container that smelled of gasoline was found on the highway near the 2000 block of West York, just before 4:30 p.m.

There was also an item that looked like a rocket on top of the container.

Nearby homes were briefly evacuated while crews investigated. The scene was cleared around 5 p.m.

There were no reported injuries.
