Authorities Investigate Death Of Baby Found Unresponsive At Day Care In Lehigh Township

TREICHLERS, Pa. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of a 3-month-old girl found unresponsive at an eastern Pennsylvania day care.

Police and emergency personnel in Northampton County's Lehigh Township were called to Sharon's Day Care at about 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Chief Scott Fogel of the township police department said the girl wasn't breathing when help arrived. Officers and emergency medical personnel tried to revive her, but she was pronounced dead at Blue Mountain Health System's Palmerton campus.

Fogel said police are treating the death as suspicious pending the outcome of an autopsy.
