Authorities Identify NJ Store Owner Fatally Shot In Robbery

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Authorities have released the name of a clothing store owner who was fatally shot during an apparent robbery at his Jersey City business.

Hudson County prosecutors say city police found 61-year-old Byungeun Lee at the Top Plus store around 4 p.m. Saturday. They had gone there after a caller reported hearing a loud thud and seeing a man on the floor inside the business.

Lee was pronounced dead there a short time later.

Prosecutors say the Palisades Park man had gunshot wounds in his upper body. But further details on the shooting have not been disclosed, including what type of weapon was used or how many robbers may have been involved.

No arrests have been made.
