Atty. Gen. Kane Says She Will Turn Over Sting File To Philadelphia's District Attorney

HARRISBURG, Pa., (CBS) -- Pennsylvania's Attorney General now says she will turn over evidence in the sting operation that ensnared several prominent Philadelphia Democrats to Philadelphia's District Attorney.
Attorney General Kathleen Kane found herself facing withering criticism for shutting down the sting operation that caught lawmakers on tape accepting cash from a lobbyist working undercover. Kane defended her actions, saying among other things, that the case was tainted because there was evidence it targeted only black politicians. And when he raised questions about it, Kane essentially dared Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams to take the case.
But when Williams agreed to do so, she did not turn the files over immediately. A spokesman says, however, evidence in the sting will be transferred to the DA's office this week now that, as he puts it, "issues have been resolved by the DA."
