Attempted Carjacking In Overbrook Ends With Crash

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are investigating an attempted carjacking in the Overbrook section of the city this morning that ended in a crash.

The incident happened shortly after 3 a.m. near 58th Street and Lebanon Avenue.

Police say the suspect hit the 58-year-old driver in the head with a gun. The victim drove away and then crashed into a parked car.

The suspect ran away, but was later located by police and arrested.

The victim was taken to the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania in stable condition. He was being treated for minor injuries suffered in the crash, and from being hit with the suspect's gun.
