ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., (CBS) -- An Atlantic City man has been sentenced to 12 years behind bars for shaking a six-month-old baby to death in 2012.

Daquan Davis, 20, was indicted on charges of aggravated manslaughter, manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child. In August, Davis entered a guilty plea to the most serious charge of aggravated manslaughter, admitting that he shook the baby because it would not stop crying.

Davis was arrested on September 12th of 2012 after the child's mother came home from work to find the infant unresponsive. She called 911, but the child was pronounced dead at the scene. Davis had been left to watch the child while the mother was at work.
