As Casino Business Softens, Atlantic City Promoting Its Non-Gambling Entertainments

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (CBS) -- Despite the decline in casino gambling revenue in Atlantic City, NJ, marketing effort continue full steam ahead, promoting the fact that there's more than gambling in AC.

The "DO AC" print ads and radio and television commercials will continue.  Tomorrow, the nonprofit marketing agency Atlantic City Alliance ("ACA") will take out full-page advertisements in the Wall Street Journal, Newark Star Ledger, and the Philadelphia Inquirer.

"The ads say, 'We have something for everyone, no wonder everyone's here.' And it's a picture from behind the stage with Lady Antebellum, with a filled beach, with the Steel Pier, the ocean in the background," says Jeff Guaracino, with the ACA.  "And it does talk about not only what is happening here right now, but tease up what is going to be a jam-packed September."

The ACA is promoting that people coming to Atlantic City in larger numbers, and are coming to do things besides gambling.
