Armed Suspect Robs Wawa In Northeast Philly

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are searching for the armed suspect who robbed a convenience store in Northeast Philadelphia early Monday morning.

The incident happened shortly after midnight at the Wawa located at Cottman Avenue and Rockwell Avenue.

According to investigators, the suspect entered the store and approached an employee behind the counter. The suspect displayed a gun and announced a robbery.

The suspect forced the employee to empty the register before fleeing with an unknown amount of money.

Investigators say the suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s or early 40s who was wearing a black puffy jacket.
