Area Supermarkets Quickly Restock After Thursday Night Snow

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Supermarkets were busily restocking their shelves today in the wake of the first snowstorm of the new year.

At the Superfresh store at 5th and Pine Streets in center city, customers were impressed with the condition of the stocks.

Did it seem like there had just been a big storm?

"Not at all -- it's well stocked," said one woman.

Another woman said the store seems to have recovered well.

"Well, I understand it was absolutely mobbed before the storm, but it doesn't look too bad, now," she said today.

John O'Kane, dairy manager at the center city Superfresh, says one day makes a huge difference.

"We're ready for business -- just bring it on in!" he said this morning.   "We got our deliveries, we're ready to go."

The next obstacle, of course, is to make sure that the store is stocked for Eagles' fans buying food for the big game tomorrow night.

"I'm a snackaholic," admitted one man.  "I go across the board with everything from pretzels, chips..."  He added that he also likes to eat fresh fruit.

Another man said this seemed like the right time to stock up.

"I guess you gotta stay inside. There's not much else to do besides watch TV and eat some food," he said.
