Lawmakers Gather For 'National Day Of Action' Following Historic Sit-In

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Two Philadelphia congressman gave the "House floor view" of last week's historic sit-in for gun legislation.
They spoke at City Hall as part of a "National Day of Action" on gun control.
Congressman Brendan Boyle says he was waiting for his turn to give a one-minute speech on the Orlando massacre. His colleague John Lewis had gone first.
"And then he said that the best way sometimes to stand up is to sit down. And took the unprecedented action of sitting down in the House well."
Boyle says he decided to sit down too, as did Congressman Bob Brady.
Brady rejects Republican criticism that the sit-in was a publicity stunt any more than "a moment of silence" for gun victims.
"Moment of silence. I've got their moment. I'll tell them where they can put their moment of silence. They can put it where I was sitting down that weekend."
The sit-in ended when the House recessed until July 5, but Boyle and Brady say they hope it spurs change.
