Arctic Blast Prompts Code Blue Declarations

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The cold weather moving in tomorrow and Friday is no joke.

The temperatures will be at their lowest since last February.

As a result, local counties are declaring Code Blue weather emergencies.

Philadelphia  will be under a Code Blue from 6:00 p.m. today through Wednesday, December 21st at 6:00 a.m.

Montgomery County will be under a Code Blue from 9:00 p.m. Wednesday through 12:00 p.m. Saturday.

Bucks County declared a Code Blue from 7 p.m. Wednesday until 7 a.m. on Saturday.

Camden County issued a Code Blue Advisory  from 6 p.m. on December 16 until 6 a.m. on December 17, and again from 6 p.m. on December 18 until 6 a.m. on December 19.

Burlington County declared a Code Blue Cold Weather Emergency from 7 p.m. Wednesday to to 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 19.

The CBS3 Weather Team is forecasting high temperatures in the 20s on Thursday and Friday as a broad trough of low pressure takes over the northern third of the country.

The normal LOW for this time of year is 30 degrees and the expected high the next two days won't even rise to that.
