Weather Blog: April Showers

By Kathy Orr

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- We begin April with high hopes after March 2014 left three snowstorms in its wake.

Philadelphia ended the month nearly five degrees below normal in temperature.

WATCH: Kathy's Monday Evening Forecast

April will bring temperatures above average (58 degrees) for a pleasant change.

However, there will be an increasing chance of rain this week as a storm over the Great Lakes gets closer.

We will kick off the month dry, Tuesday, with a high of 60 degrees. There will be a 30% change of a shower Wednesday, 40% chance Thursday, and 50% chance Friday. I do not expect a lot of rain this week, with .1"-.25", per event, at best.

The rain chances will end Sunday, in the wake of a cold front.

The good news is...it will not be "cold" after that, as temperatures early next week look seasonable.

Enjoy the Sunshine,

Kathy
