Amtrak Using Snow Schedule In Northeast Corridor

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — A winter storm headed toward the East Coast has Amtrak trimming schedules for its Acela Express and Northeast Regional trains.

Amtrak says passengers should also expect fewer runs than normal on its Keystone Service, from Harrisburg through Philadelphia to New York City.

Trains should operate normally farther north, where less snow was expected. They include Empire Service from New York City to Albany and Buffalo; the Downeaster from Brunswick, Maine to Boston; and the Springfield Shuttle between New Haven, Conn., and Springfield, Mass.

Amtrak says other trains north of New York City, and those south and east of Washington, D.C., will operate normally.

Passengers with reservations on the affected routes were being notified by Amtrak, which will try to place them on other trains.
