Among them is Janet, who says the forecast made her alter her plans a bit.

"It just put me on alert," she said. "I made sure I got an early start. I didn't want to cut it too close because I didn't know what getting from my home to the train station was going to be like."

She has a special Thanksgiving trip planned.

"I'm going to Richmond to have dinner with my son who's home from Korea, he's in the army, and my daughter-in-law and my three grandchildren," she said.

It's been more than a year since her son has been home from serving overseas, and she gave a hint of what they'll be doing besides eating. "Oh yeah, I have all my Eagles gear in my suitcase."
