Downed Power Lines In Maryland Cause Hour-Long Delays On Amtrak NE Corridor

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Some downed wires in Maryland caused all kinds of headaches for commuters on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor this morning, with hours-long delays in both directions.
Although the problem was south of Wilmington, trains to New York City and Boston saw the worst delays, the 5:15 a.m. to Boston didn't leave 30th Street Station until close to 9 a.m.
Jane Miller from Deptford, New Jersey was trying to get to New London, Connecticut for a business meeting, and the long delays had her scrambling.
"Emailing folks and letting them know I won't make it, and giving some instructions on what they need to do at this particular meeting."
She says she tried to find a different for alternatives.
"Not to New London, Connecticut, they actually said I could get to New York, but once I got to New York there was no guarantee I could get to New London, CT."
But she says she's taking it in stride.
"I just take a deep breath and try to come up with a plan B."
