Allentown Pools Waive Fees During Excessive Heat

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- The City of Allentown is giving their residents a break and waiving pool fees in light of the excessive heat that has struck the region over the past week. The decision was announced on Friday.

Fees will be waived on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14, according to the city's mayor, Ed Pawlowski.

Jordan Pool and Irving Pool will be open from noon until 7:00 p.m. on both days and Mack Pool will be open from noon until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, but will closed to the public on Saturday.

The mayor warned that the number of people allowed at the pools will be based on occupancy restrictions. If someone arrives at an overcrowded pool, they will be directed to another one.
