By John McDevitt

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (CBS) - A Delaware County non-profit organization that helps kids realize their potential through the arts is hosting a themed party to help raise funds for its programming.

A prohibition-style speakeasy party is being held this Friday in Center CIty and your invited. Costumes are optional.

It's held to help raise money for the Sunshine Arts in Upper Darby.

The 501(c)3 is "a safe haven," as executive director Sheila Modglin describes it, where kids seven and up can explore their potential through creative avenues like poetry,  music, painting and film.

"What they need is encouragement," she says, "and they need to know that whatever they are doing that there is potential with it, that they can explore anything,  that there is nothing right or wrong.  Art is not about right or wrong,  its expression."

There will be food, music, dance, magic and a silent auction at the fundraiser.

It will be held December 5th at the Ethical Society in Rittenhouse square. Tickets are $75 in advance and $100 at the door.
