PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - On today's APP-tastic and outta SITE - Airplane! app.

Ratcheting down the difficulty of the typical flight simulator would seem to be an effective way of broadening the audience. But rather than focusing on the thrill of flight, Airplane! sucks the fun out of the process, making landings nearly impossible and the actual flights monotonous.

The visuals are fairly well done but hardly diverse. It's a game for people who might want to explore a flight sim, but not bother to learn anything about airplanes first.

That's the Airplane app.
