Agitated Driver Accused Of Trying To Eat Weed In Burlington County

WESTAMPTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- A driver agitated by stopped traffic for a medical emergency began to hook his horn and when he was confronted by officers, police say he tried to eat marijuana he had in his possession.

This bizarre incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. on April 3rd along Springside Road in Westampton Township, Burlington County.

According to the Westampton Township Police Department, EMS crews were dispatched to the area for a cardiac emergency.

While assisting the EMS workers, a Westampton Township Police Department officer observed a driver honking his horn due to the emergency vehicles blocking his path.

When the officer approached the car, police say the driver, identified as Jermaine Royal, tried to eat marijuana he had in his possession.

Investigators said Royal was also found to have two outstanding warrants out of Burlington City.

Royal was taken into custody and transported to the Westampton Police station where he was processed and released on a summons.
