After Rough Winter, Red Cross Urgently Needs Blood Donors

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The Red Cross says it's desperately in need of blood and platelet donors.

The organization says the winter weather resulted in numerous blood drive cancellations that "caused more than 33,400 blood and platelet donations to go uncollected."

Anyone who wants to donate can download the free Red Cross Blood Donor app, call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit www.redcrossblood.org.
