More Need For Weed In Pennsylvania, Activists Say

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - Over the past two years, marijuana laws have loosened, with the decriminalization in Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Governor Wolf signing a medical marijuana into law.

Though many supporters are happy with the progression, some say it's not enough.

At the corner of 8th and Market Streets in Center City Sunday, dozens of cannabis-loving activists displayed their green paraphernalia, celebrating recent laws passed in Pennsylvania, but now, they want pot fully legalized

"This is part of a 300-city global cannabis march," explains Chris Goldstein is with PhillyNORML, a group working to push for the cause. "This brings people out every year to show their support for marijuana law reform."

And this year, there's something new. The group marched down Market to City Hall, where they proposed their "own" legislation:

"It would allow adults to grow their own cannabis, and it would also create a tax and regulated market, modeled almost on our state alcohol system," says Goldstein.

He says state Representative Jordan Harris will introduce the bill this week.
