Pa. Turnpike Reopens Between Bensalem, Willow Grove Following Earlier Crash

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- All lanes of the Pennsylvania Turnpike between Willow Grove and Bensalem have reopened following an earlier accident.

Authorities said the crash happened around 9 a.m. Sunday when a tractor-trailer struck the median and went through the barrier on the westbound side in Southampton, Bucks County.

Turnpike officials said there was a large fuel spill that needed to be cleaned up and that crews had to replace the barrier. As a result, the Turnpike was closed for several hours in both directions between Willow Grove and Bensalem.

It was unclear if the driver of the tractor-trailer was hurt, but officials said he may have suffered minor injuries.

No other vehicles were involved.
