Accident On I-95 Shuts Down Lane During Morning Rush

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- A car accident on I-95 Northbound on Wednesday morning caused lane closures and tied up traffic during the early morning commute.

At least three cars were involved in the accident near the Girard exit. Police responded to the scene and shut down the left lane of I-95N, making room for tow trucks and equipment to address the accident. Fire engines responded to the scene as well.

One person was taken to the hospital, reported to be in stable condition.

Around 6am, cars were backed up to the Vine Street exit for Center City.

The accident was cleared around 6:30am, but residual traffic jams may still impact the commute for anyone who takes I-95 North through the morning rush.
