Accident On I-95 Causes Fuel Spill, Traffic Nightmare

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A crash on I-95 Tuesday led to a fuel spill and a traffic nightmare during the morning rush hour.

The accident happened shortly before 6 a.m. in the northbound lanes on I-95 near Girard Avenue.

The crash, which reportedly involved a car and a truck, caused the spill of approximately 100 gallons of fuel.

It was not immediately known if there were any injuries.

As a result of the crash, only the left lane was able to squeeze by and the delay impacted traffic on the Vine Street Expressway, as well as backing up traffic all the way down I-95 in South Philadelphia. At about 8:30 a.m., all the northbound lanes were re-opened.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
