Aaron McKie Named Temple University Assistant Basketball Coach

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Temple University announced Thursday they have named Aaron McKie an assistant men's basketball coach. McKie, a former Philadelphia 76er, played his high school ball at Simon Gratz , before his successful three-year career at Temple (1991-1994).

"Aaron McKie is not only Temple Basketball, but he is Philadelphia Basketball," said Temple basketball head coach Fran Dunphy. "His name still resonates in the city, as he played his high school, college and professional ball in Philly.  He is a tremendous representative of Temple University and possesses an astute basketball mind which will serve to help the program in so many ways."

McKie is tied for sixth on the Temple's all-time scoring list with 1,650 points. He started all 92 games of his career, averaging 17.9 points per game while leading the Owls to 60 wins, three NCAA Tournaments, and a trip to the 1993 Elite Eight.
