AAA Mid-Atlantic: New Jersey Gas Prices Stay Stable

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Motorists are seeing stable prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the state on Friday was $1.98, the same last week. But that's still much lower than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $2.98.

The national average price on Friday was $2.28, down 4 cents from last week. That's also much lower than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.16.

Analysts say pump prices will likely hold steady in the coming weeks, noting that seasonal maintenance work continues at many refineries.
