AAA Mid-Atlantic: New Jersey Gas Prices Down Sharply

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — Motorists are seeing sharply lower prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the state on Friday was $2.22, down 10 cents from last week. That's also much lower than the price from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.26.

This marks the tenth straight week that pump prices have fallen in New Jersey.

The national average price on Friday was $2.51, down 12 cents from last week. That's also much lower than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $3.43.

Analysts say pump prices will likely continue to drop in New Jersey in the coming weeks, noting that crude oil prices continue to fall.
