A Wild Display Of Wildflowers At Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you haven't been there before, this is a great time of year to head to the Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve located near New Hope, PA.

There, in the middle of April, a magical show of native wildflowers begins to emerge. There's nothing quite like the impression you get from walks through the woods with carpets of wildflowers from violets to bluebells to trout lilies and trilliums.

Many of these lovely wildflowers are ephemeral, meaning they don't last long. It's like a vacation romance; you suddenly see them, become enchanted, fall completely in love, and then a few weeks later, they disappear and you're left wondering if you imagined the whole thing.

So, don't wait. Go see them while they're here this year. Then, look to plant lots of lovely native wildflowers at your place too!

The grounds at Bowman's Hill are open from 8:30 to sunset everyday and from May 4 to the 10th, they're celebrating National Wildflower Week.
