A Special Day For Kids During DNC

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Of all the special events for the Democratic Convention, only one will have double dutch at the 'Day of Play.' This event is designed for children of convention visitors, but everyone is invited.

Councilman Bobby Henon is sure that parents bringing children to the Convention will make a point to take them to the historic sites, but what would the children want to do?

"If I were channeling my inner child and I was being taken to a convention, I would pray for an event like the 'Day of Play' extravaganza," Henon said.

A pop-up obstacle course, art project, games, dancing, and all kinds of jump-roping are among the activities that will be offered. Henon also sees it as a chance for visiting kids to meet nearly 1500 Philly camp kids.

For anyone that just wants to show up, it's Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in Dilworth Park at City Hall.
