Twitter Is Changing One Of Its Most Iconic Features

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Twitter's favorite button is no more.

The social network is replacing the star-shaped "favorite" button with a heart-shaped "like" button.

"Likes" will work much the same way as "favorites," hearts will appear where the stars once did underneath tweets.

The "favorites" section in your user profile, which shows tweets that you have favorited, will also be renamed "Likes."

In a blog post, the company says the change is meant to "make Twitter easier and more rewarding to use," because the star can be confusing for new users.

The hearts will begin to show up today on Twitter's website, as well its iOS and Android apps. It will also be rolling out to Vine's and it's Apple and Android apps soon.
