A Modern Spin On Traditional Easter Activity For Philadelphia Church Group

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Easter Bunny got a little help from a drone this year at an annual Easter celebration in Northwest Philadelphia.

The drone hovered into place, and then dropped the eggs from a basket as hundreds of children waited on the side of the field at the Waterview Recreation Center in Germantown on Saturday. The go ahead was given and then the kids ran to collect the candy-filled plastic eggs.

Impacting Your World Christian Center held the event. Pastor Ray Bernard says it's all about building community relations.

"You have to get outside the four walls of your church. You got to get out here and engage and with young people, with families and show them that you care, and show them how that working together, everyone can benefit."

The kids seemed to agree.

"It brings everybody out. Everybody gets along, the community and stuff. We have a good time and everything."

When it was all said and done, 7,000 Easter eggs were collected by the children.
