A Memorial Of Stones In Woodbury For Families Who Lost Loved Ones To Crime

WOODBURY, N.J. (CBS) - For the third straight year, the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office held a ceremony yesterday remembering victims of crime and the families they left behind.
A small rock garden outside the county justice center sits as a permanent reminder of those lost to violence. Each rock, a total of about 90, is painted with a victim's name.
Gloucester County Prosecutor Sean Dalton says the art work was produced by a family member.
"When we think of our loved ones that we lost, we really shouldn't dwell on how they died but truly on how they lived," he said. "The lives that they touched, the lives that they've made better as a result of the impact they had on them."
Victim advocates were also on hand to make sure families know they can still get help, even after the criminal trials are concluded.
Dalton says it's events like this that remind those families that help is available.
"You are not alone. We work with you to make sure justice is served."
And that help can take several forms, from money to make ends meet, to a simple chance to talk things out.
