94WIP Hosts Predict The Eagles' Season

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Here we are, less than a week away from another Eagles season. This one comes with more anticipation that most. After all, the Birds far exceeded our expectations last season under new head coach Chip Kelly, going 10-6, winning the NFC East, and earning a home playoff game.

Now, in their second season under Chip, with an emerging star (we hope) at quarterback, the NFL's reigning rushing champ, a new complimentary toy in Darren Sproles, one of the league's top offensive line's (despite a four-game suspension to Lane Johnson), added depth, a year of experience in Billy Davis' 3-4 defensive scheme, Malcolm Jenkins, and the luxury of playing in a weak division, we want more. After all, this is Philadelphia.

Some of the SportsRadio 94WIP hosts have predicted how the Eagles will fare in 2014:

Michael Barkann (M-F, 10am-1pm)

The Division is down and the Birds have more depth than I thought. They'll be just fine.

Prediction: 10-6, NFC East champs, and they'll win a playoff game

Angelo Cataldi (M-F, 5:30am-10am)

Who is dumb enough to bet against a coach who took Andy Reid's 4-12 mess and turned it into a 10-6 division winner? Chip Kelly will only get better in his second year, and so will the Eagles. They will finish 12-4, and then they will win the Super Bowl. Yup. This season.

Prediction: 12-4, Super Bowl champs

Ray Didinger (Weekends)

The Eagles still have some issues on defense -- finding a consistent pass rush, for example -- but they have the good fortune of playing in the NFL's weakest division. I expect the Eagles to repeat as NFC East champs, match last year's record and advance at least one round in the playoffs. Super Bowl? I don't think so, not this year.

Prediction: 10-6 record, first place in the NFC East.

Josh Innes (M-F, 6-10pm)

The NFC East is a train wreck. Worst case they should be 4-2 in their division. Non-divisional road games facing Andrew Luck and Aaron Rodgers will be tough for a defense that has a ton to prove. And, the schedule is tougher than last year.

Can Foles comes close to the performance last year? Will the league figure out Chips offense?

Prediction: I see high end 11-5 low end 9-7 and a second consecutive NFC East title.

Al Morganti (M-F, 5:30am-10am)

After this season the eagles new color will be Chip Kelly green. They will have the NFC East locked by thanksgiving. Eagles will be last team standing. Get your green mittens ready for a Winter parade.

Prediction: 13-3. Super Bowl champs

Ike Reese (M-F, 10am-1pm)

The Eagles will win the NFC East for the second straight year, but they are beneficiaries of a weak division. I just don't think they did enough this offseason to surpass the elite teams in the NFC.

The playoff matchup will determine whether or not they win a playoff game.

Prediction: 9-7, NFC East champs

Hollis Thomas (Weekends)

The Eagles will win the first playoff game of the Chip Kelly era and they will win some of their games in DOMINATING FASHION! Oh, and it depends on who the second round playoff game is against, but we may get to the NFC Championship game!!

Prediction: 10-6, NFC East champs
