8,000 Pa. Women Gather in Philadelphia For 11th Annual Fellowship Conference

By Cherri Gregg

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Women from all over the country flocked to the Pennsylvania Convention Center today for the sold-out Pennsylvania Conference for Women, which included an all-star line up of inspirational speakers.

Broadcasters Jane Pauley and Robin Roberts were among scores of speakers giving advice to the 8,000 attendees on everything from leadership to personal development and helped make this 11th annual conference a source of what one woman called "inspiration to live the rest of my life."

Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton spoke during the luncheon about beauty, aging, and coming up in the age of men.

Linda Cliatt-Wayman, principal of Strawberry Mansion High School, received a standing ovation (top photo) when she encouraged women to take a stand on education.

"It is, frankly, our responsibility to care," she told the group.  "We are women armed with the knowledge that education will open doors and change lives for everyone.  We are women steadfast in our belief that a quality education provides us with choices."

The theme for this year's conference -- "The Power of Us" -- was to inspire women to become change agents in their community.
