8 Boys Cited For Sexting At Central Pa. School

THREE SPRINGS, Pa. (AP) — State police have cited eight teenage boys for harassment for allegedly sending sexually explicit cellphone pictures of themselves to eight girls at a central Pennsylvania high school, in hopes the girls would reciprocate with nude pictures of themselves.

Instead, administrators at Southern Huntingdon County High School in Cromwell Township heard about the incidents and called authorities.

Police on Monday said the boys used the social media application Snapchat, which deletes the photos from phones moments after they're sent. Experts are still able to retrieve the images later, however — a lesson the boys learned too late.

The boys involved were 13 to 15 years old and are not being identified because of their ages.

None of the girls was cited.

The school is located about 100 miles east of Pittsburgh.
