7 Firefighters Hurt After Multiple Fires Break Out In Camden Over The Weekend

CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) – A string of fires in Camden over the weekend is attracting the attention of arson investigators.

Seven firefighters were hurt while responding to them.

A total of 12 fires broke out between Saturday and Sunday, mostly in empty buildings.

One of the fires rose to 2-alarms.

They happened in quick succession, which took its toll on firefighters.

Camden Fire Department Chief Michael Harper says, "Some of them were physically exhausted from going from one fire to the next. Some of them went from one right to another."

An arson unit is looking into the fires.

Investigators ask anyone with information to give them a call.
