PHILADELPHIA (CBS/AP)  — Police say a 65-year-old man pulled a gun and shot two men who were beating him near his home in Philadelphia.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of South 2nd Street in the city's Queen Village neighborhood.

Authorities say a 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old man started accosting the man and his wife and the altercation soon turned physical. That's when police say the man pulled his .45-caliber handgun and shot both of the younger men.

Police say the younger men were taken to a hospital and the 65-year-old man was treated for injuries to his mouth and head. Investigators say the older man had a license to carry.

It's unclear if the men will face any charges.
