$50K Reward Offered In Delaware County Robbery, Attempted Robberies

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect who attempted to rob the post offices in both the Yeadon and Darby.

Police say the man, who was wearing a mask or makeup, attempted to rob the Yeadon Post Office on Jan. 22nd around 10:40 a.m.
Just 20 minutes later, he attempted another robbery at the Darby Post Office.

The suspect was unsuccessful at either post office, but police say he may have also robbed the Wells Fargo Bank in Springfield on Jan. 23rd. In that instance, he did manage to get away with cash (see previous story).

Now, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect, who's described as a male between 5'8" and 5'10" and 160-170 lbs.

Police say the suspect's skin is described as "waxy," as if he had a skin problem such as a burn, and it appeared he was wearing a mask or makeup during the robberies.

Anyone with information should call police.
