5-Year-Old Struck By Hit-Run Driver In West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia police are searching for the driver who fled the scene after striking a young pedestrian Tuesday morning.

The hit and run happened at about 7 a.m. at 52nd Street and Baltimore Avenue in West Philadelphia.

According to investigators, the driver struck a five-year-old male and then drove away.

The young victim was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where he is listed in stable condition.

Investigators say the striking vehicle was a grey Pontiac minivan with a Pennsylvania license plate HCA-5975.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
