5 Philly Suburbs Land Spot On Top 100 Places To Live In America

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Five of Philadelphia's suburbs have landed in the top 100 of the Best Places to Live in America for 2016.

The website Niche compiled the rankings using data from the U.S. Census, FBI, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the CDC. They analyzed 10,000 towns based on their crime, school districts, the cost of living in the area as well as job opportunities and other local amenities.

Ardmore snagged the 94 spot, followed by Devon and Narberth at #64 and #30. Tredyffrin Township in Chester County came in at #20 with nearby Chesterbrook placing in the top 10 at #8.

Devon also ranked #1 in the site's list of Best Places to Raise a Family. Chesterbrook made the top 10 again at #6.

Berwyn ousted Devon for the #1 spot in the Places With The Best Public Schools. Chesterbrook placed #2 on that list followed consecutively by Devon, Easttown and Tredyffrin townships.

Kennett Township, in Southern Chester County, was ranked the safest place to live in America.
