By Justin Finch and Mike Dougherty

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – It was a violent night in Philadelphia. Multiple shootings landed five people in the hospital.

There is not a known motive in any of the shootings.

One of the shootings happened in Fairhill. Police say two males and one female were all hit in a hail of 15 gunshots.

It occurred on the 1500 block of East Somerset.

Police are combing the area for clues.

Behind police tape is a bike that may be linked to one of the three victims.

A man and woman in their 20s and a man in his 30s were all gunned down just after 11:30 Thursday night.

Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small says, "We know at least 15 shots were fired from two separate caliber semi-automatic handguns. So we know two guns were fired."

Police say officers on patrol heard the string of shots and got the victims to Temple University Hospital.

The male in his 20s was shot in his lower back, the female victim was shot in her leg, and the other male victim was shot in his thigh.

Police say he lost a lot of blood.

They also say they have a lead on possible suspects.

"Based on initial information, we're told the shooters are two males wearing masks and dark clothing, and they fled on foot in an unknown direction," says Chief Inspector Small.

Police picked up one more clue about the suspected shooters.

"They possibly entered a vehicle. Police stopped a vehicle that was leaving the scene of this location about one block away. The female operator was acting suspicious."

The female driver is now being questioned, police say.

The two victims in their 20s are in stable condition, the man in his 30s is in critical.

Another shooting, which occurred in Lawncrest, left two 19-year-old males shot. One shooting happened on the 5900 block of Palmetto Street, the other on Sanger Street.

Police say one teen was shot in the back and he is being uncooperative.

Authorities say the other teen was shot in his leg and he says he was with the other teen that was shot.

Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage. Both incidents remain under investigation.
