49ers GM Expects Colin Kaepernick To Stay

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Apparently, Chip Kelly likes Colin Kaepernick enough to help convince him to stay in San Francisco. Or, convince the 49ers to not release him.

Speaking at the NFL combine on Wednesday, 49ers general manager Trent Balke said he expects Kaepernick to be on the roster come April 1st, when he's due about $12 million.

Of course, the 49ers can still look to trade Kaepernick.

It was originally reported earlier this month that Kaepernick, 28, wanted out of San Fran. Back in November, while Kelly was still with the Eagles, SI.com's Peter King listed Philadelphia as the most likely 2016 destination for Kaepernick.
