Today Is The 30th Anniversary Of Mike Schmidt's 500th HR

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- April 18th, 1987.

One of the most iconic moments in Philadelphia sports history took place on that date, exactly 30 years ago today, at Pittsburgh's Three Rivers Stadium.

Mike Schmidt's 500th home run.

With the Phils trailing 6-5 in the 9th inning with two outs, Schmidt blasted one into left field to give the Phils an 8-6 victory. Here's Harry Kalas' legendary call of the iconic moment.
