3 Stores Selling Taney T's To Benefit Philly's Hot Little League Team

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- As Philadelphia's Taney Dragons pursue the Little League World Series title in Williamsport, Pa., a group of local sporting goods stores is selling t-shirts to help the team's families with travel and other expenses.

The light blue t-shirts display "Taney" and a red letter T on a home plate with a banner noting  the team's 2014 Mid-Atlantic championship.

The shirts are being sold at three Modell's sporting goods stores (one in center city and two in South Philadelphia) for $10 each, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Taney Dragons.

Matt O'Brien, from Fairmount, was buying a shirt during his lunch break at the Modell's in the 1500 block of Chestnut Street.

"It brings everyone together," he said.  "I mean, all the bad things that are happening with the city in the past few weeks, and having this great story and having everyone just surrounding the team and wishing them the best is just a morale booster."

The shirts are also available online and at the Snyder Avenue and Oregon Avenue  Modell's.

And you can watch the Taney Dragons take on South Nashville at 3pm tomorrow on ESPN.
