3 PennDOT Workers Hurt In Line-Painting Truck Rollover

BEAVER, Pa. (AP) -- Three Pennsylvania Department of Transportation workers were hurt after their line-painting truck rolled off the side of a Pennsylvania road.

The driver told Brighton Township police that the edge of the road gave way as the truck was painting line about 1:15 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators were trying to determine if the road failed or the truck simply got too close to the edge and toppled over a small embankment.

A worker operating the paint apparatus in the rear of the truck was covered in paint and injured so badly he was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital. Two others on the truck were treated at a nearby hospital and released.

Police and PennDOT have yet to release the workers' names.
